COURSE OFFERINGS

The courses listed in this Directory appear under the major headings shown at left in the menu section. Since many overlap, they are cross-referenced.

Courses offered in programs that award certificates or degrees are listed separately, under the Degrees and Certificates link on the home page, and in the cross-references in the other categories.

The courses in this Directory relate to the resolution or management of conflict in a variety of settings. Courses in substantive law in particular fields (such as labor law) are generally not included unless they contain major segments on the resolution of disputes. Courses in related fields, such as arms control and disarmament, are also generally not listed.

Within each category, the courses are listed alphabetically according to the institution at which they are offered. The link on the home page to Participating Faculty lists all instructors, their contact information, and the names of the courses they teach. If you want to know more about a particular course, click on it to see the description. There is also an alphabetical index of courses which link to the course description.

CREDITS

Each of the institutions with courses listed in the Directory has a different system for awarding credit. It is up to the student to negotiate for credit with his or her own institution for any courses taken in other institutions.

CROSS-REGISTRATION

Many Boston area colleges and universities have established procedures for cross-registration. Students should contact the registrar's office at their own institution to find out if there are standing agreements and/or application procedures to follow.

If the institution has no standing procedure for cross-registration, special arrangements can sometimes be made directly with the professor involved, particularly if course credit is not an issue. Students may be able to enlist the aid of a professor in their own institution to help make arrangements with colleagues in other institutions.
