Hewlett Center Conference 2000:
Focus on Negotiation Pedagogy
March 10-12, Cambridge, Mass.

With the generous support of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School (PON) hosted the 2000 Hewlett Center Conference on March 10-12, 2000, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

This year's meeting focused on the teaching of negotiation. The following questions in particular were investigated:

What are the basic concepts taught in negotiation courses?
What are the skills that are taught?
What materials are used to teach these concepts and skills?
What methods are used in the classroom?
How is learning evaluated?
How are instructors evaluated?
With the information on these pages, PON hopes to share the accomplishments and findings of the conference, and to encourage continuing research on the teaching of negotiation skills.

PON thanks the many friends and colleagues who did so much to make this conference a success. We owe special thanks to Steve Toben, the Hewlett Foundation's Program Officer for Conflict Resolution, for his invaluable guidance and unfailing support.

PON also thanks the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School for their support in the production and service of the streaming video available at this site.
