Topic Area: CareersHow can I pursue a career in dispute resolution or negotiation? There are many ways to enter into a career in dispute resolution or negotiation. However, because the types of employment available are diverse and draw on a variety of disciplines, it is not possible to recommend a single path of training and experience. Indeed, PON's interdisciplinary nature attests to the variety of backgrounds from which one can pursue a career in dispute resolution or negotiation. From time to time, PON hosts informational events regarding career paths in conflict resolution. Such events are posted on the PON website. How do I find out about employment opportunities in conflict resolution or negotiation?PON provides a binder of career and training opportunities, which is available in the PON common space on the 5th floor of Pound Hall, Harvard Law School. In addition, the PON Student Interest Group (see the Resources for Students FAQ) frequently focuses on career opportunities in the field. What kinds of job opportunities are available through PON?PON does not hire mediators, negotiators, trainers or other dispute resolution professionals. Staff openings at PON are rare; any such openings will be posted through Harvard Law School Human Resources. However, several PON-affiliated faculty partner with other professionals on individual projects. This is the Careers Topic Area of the PON FAQ. Other Topic Areas are listed in the column on the left side of this page. |
