How do students get involved with PON?

PON's Student Interest Group provides a number of ways for students and other interested individuals to get involved through discussion groups, career events, speaker events, and film series. For more information, contact Sarah Woodside at swoodside@law.harvard.edu.

Does PON offer grants to students?

PON's Next Generation Grants Program supports research in negotiation and conflict resolution by non-tenured faculty and doctoral students at PON-affiliated schools. For more information, please see the Next Generation Grants section of this website.

What do I need to study to go into conflict resolution or negotiation?

There are a variety of different paths of study, depending on how you want to use your skills and what types of disputes you want to negotiate or mediate. In addition to the PON-sponsored courses (see the Education section of this FAQ), many Boston-area schools offer courses in negotiation and conflict resolution, and some offer degree programs with a concentration in conflict resolution. For information on courses and internship opportunities, refer to the Dispute Resolution Directory. In addition, hands-on mediation training is available through a number of community mediation programs, including the Harvard Mediation Program.
