Join Leonard Riskin, Professor of Law at the University of Missouri-Columbia, the Program on Negotiation's Robert Mnookin, and a panel of distinguished professors and professionals in a discussion of the role of mindfulness in the law and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Inspired by Professor Riskin's article "The Contemplative Lawyer: On the Potential Contributions of Mindfulness Meditation to Lawyers, Law Students, and Clients," to be published in the upcoming Spring 2002 Volume 7 of the Harvard Negotiation Law Review, the workshop will feature short exercises in mindfulness, discussion of the benefits of mindfulness to attorney satisfaction and effectiveness, and application of mindfulness to specific negotiation and mediation skills.
