An Unreliable Witness is a documentary that follows British journalist David Tereshchuk as he travels to Derry, Northern Ireland, to give testimony before the Saville Inquiry investigating the events of Bloody Sunday 30 years earlier. He is considered an "objective witness" because he's a journalist, but struggles to reconstruct his memories of the day.

Jim Cavallaro, Associate Director of the Human Rights Program at Harvard Law School, introduced the film and director Michael McHugh and producer Don Mullan, who led a discussion after the film.

This was only the third screening of An Unreliable Witness, which premiered at the UN on January 30, 2004. The next screening is at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.

This was the second of two Program on Negotiation film events relating to the conflict in Northern Ireland. The first was the special March 17 Harvard Film Archive presentation of Bloody Sunday, featuring a discussion with Don Mullan and HLS Professor Robert Mnookin, chair of the Program on Negotiation.
