Welcome!

PON has many opportunities for you to participate in our programs and activities. We offer several types of classes, including two- to three-day executive education courses, one and two week-long workshops, and semester-length seminars. If you are looking to hone your negotiation and mediation skills, we publish a monthly newsletter, Negotiation, and an academic journal, Negotiation Journal. Additionally, the PON Clearinghouse offers a comprehensive selection of negotiation and mediation materials, including roleplays, books and videos. During the fall and spring semesters, we hold several events, including lectures, films and brown bag lunches that are open to the community. Some of our past events are available for viewing via webcast.

Executive Education:

Business leaders, government officials, corporate trainers, and corporate counsel are among the nearly 2,500 persons who participate in short negotiation training courses offered each year by the Program on Negotiation in partnership with the Center for Management Research. These two- to three-day workshops are described in detail at the Program on Negotiation Executive Education Series Web site: www.pon.execseminars.com.

PON Seminars:

PON Seminars are semester-length courses (Negotiation and Dispute Resolution in the fall, Mediation and Participatory Processes in the spring) that increase public awareness and understanding of successful conflict resolution efforts. These courses are not offered for academic credit through PON. Students receive a certificate of completion at the end of the semester.

Program of Instruction for Lawyers @ PON:

PIL@PON workshops are open to lawyers and others seeking comprehensive learning in negotiation and mediation. They are held in June and October on the Harvard Law School campus. Participants from a wide variety of professions have found these programs invaluable.

Negotiation Newsletter:

The Program on Negotiation publishes the monthly Negotiation newsletter that offers practical advice and guidance for developing and honing your negotiation skills in a quick-reading format.

Negotiation Journal:

The Program on Negotiation also produces the Negotiation Journal. The Journal is an internationally known quarterly that is eclectic both in its contents and its readership. It strives to offer a publication that is useful to everyone interested in the practice and analysis of dispute resolution; lawyers, diplomats, labor negotiators, government officials, family mediators, and businesspeople (among others), as well as scholars in these varied fields.

PON Clearinghouse:

The Program on Negotiation develops, publishes, and distributes teaching materials relating to negotiation education through the PON Clearinghouse. PON provides a comprehensive selection of negotiation exercises, videotapes, case studies, teaching notes, course syllabi, texts, and other publications for teachers and trainers.

Dispute Resolution Forum:

The Program on Negotiation's Dispute Resolution Forum (DRF) is an exciting place to gain new knowledge and to share information with colleagues in the field. The practitioner-oriented DRF is attended by alternative dispute resolution (ADR) professionals from Boston and the surrounding area, as well as local scholars and graduate students.

Dispute Resolution Directory:

The Dispute Resolution Directory is a catalog of courses and internship opportunities in the Greater Boston area for students interested in the field of dispute resolution.
