PON Graduate Student Grants Program
The NEW Program on Negotiation Graduate Student Grants Program has been designed to encourage scholarship in the fields of negotiation and conflict resolution, with the aim of supporting cutting edge research at the graduate level.
Eligibility and Funding
Awards will be for specific research projects, not for general student support or tuition payments. Grants are limited to $1,000. Scholars may request funding to cover direct costs for research such as subject compensation, remuneration for required support personnel, travel costs for data collection, transcription, project specific software, and other direct research expenses. (These funds are not for salary support or travel to present research.)
Students from any Boston-area school may apply. Proposals will be reviewed twice a year. Proposals must be received by May 15 or by December 1. PON will make decisions within one month of the deadline.
Application Procedure
Proposals must be received by May 15 or December 1.
Each application must contain:
- a one-to-two page description of the proposed project;
- a budget, including all other sources of support for the project;
- a curriculum vitae (max 2 page);
- a letter of reference from a faculty member familiar with the student's work.
Grant applications will be evaluated on the basis of:
- academic merit;
- originality;
- potential for producing material for an academic paper or thesis.
Grant recipients are required to submit a one-page project overview upon completion of their project, to be posted on the PON website, outlining their research question(s) or project and briefly describing their initial findings.
