Welcome to the PON Student Interest Group Website!

Central to the Program on Negotiation’s (PON) mission is providing students with networking and academic opportunities. The interuniversity PON Student Interest Group (SIG) brings together over 650 students who are interested in negotiation and conflict resolution from Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Simmons College, Tufts University, University of Massachusetts, Boston University, Boston College, Brandeis University, and other Boston-area schools. Students involved in the SIG network have the opportunity to connect and collaborate with faculty and other interested students; attend events and discussion groups; take courses; and receive email updates of internships, job announcements, and special events.

Student Opportunities at the Program on Negotiation

Student Events

In addition to general PON events, a number of events and activities are organized specifically for students interested in the field of negotiation and conflict resolution. These include Brown Bag Lunches, Fireside Chats with professors, student mixers, workshops, and role simulations. Read more.

Student Discussion Groups

A number of discussion groups on negotiation-related topics are initiated by students each year. The meetings provide an opportunity for students to explore and discuss a topic of common interest, share professional experiences and research findings, and to network. Meetings are held four to six times a year and are open to all interested students. Read more.

Career Panels & Internship Fair

Career Panels offer insights into the variety of professional opportunities in the field of negotiation and conflict resolution, common entry points, typical responsibilities, and industry challenges. The PON Internship Fair, held each spring, provides an opportunity for local practitioners and academics to recruit students for semester and summer internships. These events also allow students to network with leading experts in the field of negotiation and conflict resolution. Read more.

PON Fellowship Programs

PON offers two Fellowship Programs to students: the Summer Fellowships Program and the Graduate Research Fellowship.

  • The PON Summer Fellowships Program provides funding for students to work with non-profit or public sector organizations that focus on negotiation or conflict resolution.

  • The PON Graduate Research Fellowship is designed to encourage doctoral students in the social sciences and professional disciplines to pursue theoretical, empirical, or applied research in negotiation and conflict resolution. The Fellowship includes support for one year of dissertation research and writing, and the opportunity to be part of the PON community.

PON Graduate Student Grants Program

The NEW PON Graduate Student Grants Program is designed to encourage scholarship in the fields of negotiation and conflict resolution, with the aim of supporting cutting edge research at the graduate level.
